Well this has turned out a bigger design that i expected but i have added all the fabric ready to send to a friend ,

Good news for me , i found my blog after somehow it sort of went wrong, had no blog connection for ages and today finally got on here .

No up-dates today just a recent photo of what i have been doing ,

Its a gift for a friend hope to find some nice fabric to make a cushion for her.

Times are not great but I'm sure things will get better, just home life is a strain few home personal things going off,

wont be posting much fabric sewing things for a while as my sewing machine is playing up , done all i can to it, cleaned it changed needle, oiled it, played with the tension , not sure what else i can do, but it keeps looping and not doing proper stitches , any idea be grateful as i miss doing sewing but feel no point as the stitch is not right and be a waste of time,
Good note i can still x-stitch and do my hexi quilt by hand.

I tend to update face book daily more than here so keep a eye on that if you don't see me here much,

Going Fabric Crazy

The lighting was not good when taking this photo so i sorry for that.

What a week it has been at home, not had much time to do any x-stitch only a charity square that i do for SFPSFC , but my time this week has been mostly sitting at the sewing machine, got one quilt all done, and now going fabric crazy with lots of scraps doing crazy patchwork blocks, at moment not sure what i shall do with them, but just happy making them up till a lot of scraps are used up, then i will start thinking the next plan,

Wonderful gift

The other day i got a most wonderful gift from Karen s blog i have been following pop along to visit Karen too , What came was such a wonderful Christmas hanging which will just look great at Christmas time, and a wonderful card to go with it, Thank you Karen x x

This is what it was, love the patten design and the colour very autumn winter shades I'm sure you will agree,

Going to have to put them away till Christmas time, and now i really must try to start some Christmas stitching myself as i am always behind with them,

Been very busy at home with family and all other stuff, my garden is looking not so good due to dry weather but we cant use hose pipe due to a ban i have been told, so i think i will lose some this summer, new idea will be to get new plants that love dry weather ,

Getting ready

Getting Ready well that is the plan i hope,

After last winter months just gone when it was much colder and snow was the worse i have seen since i moved here 20 years ago, my plan for the next few months is to make lots of blankets , some will be for us and some for charity as i will carry on making the bits and bobs i make for charity groups, there has been more charity groups i like to help in the next few months some animal other more for people young and old,

As im not that great at quilting yet still got lot to learn i cant make the quilts for charity but send things towards them.

Im also going to learn how to crochet better as can only do the one kind of square which is in the picture. I will update more photos later , xxx

What a week been getting back into stitching and now picking up my knitting hobby again after years of not knitted since my 2 was tiny,

Lets start with some nice things,

Well i have been doing a little x-stitch when ever i can, had the odd day when i was not up to any x-stitch, but the bit i have done i have enjoyed,

Like to show you a new design i got few weeks back, Bald Eagle Portrait, i got this chart from a facebook friend of mine who has a web site where you can order some wonderful animal portraits from,

I liked the look of Marks , Bald Eagle so treated myself to it,

Im doing it on 16 count aida, it will look great when done,

Time for family

I have been stitching and doing some quilting but at moment i am not feeling up to much last few days,

My mum was taken ill wednesday nite and now in hospital, so hope you understand some times i need a bit of me time,

Little China, Elephant, Buttons,

Its been a mad house at home this week, not helped by the wind and rain, last week i had a small roof leak they came out to have a look added some stuff in the gap that the rain was coming though, they said see if that helps and if not will have to renew the seal again,

But after about 5 days i had to call them out again after more rain "Yep" its was coming in at same place again, but due to all damage to other homes around they are very busy and maybe a week before they get round to fixing it,

In between all this i have done some x-stitching on the Elephant and added some of the back stitch as i go along, this helps as there is a fair bit to do on this one, He got his 2nd eye now too, i might have to redo 1 eye as looks a bit odd.

More on little china, around the cats paws and more to the flowers, there is no way this will be done for xmas,

Any ideas what i can do with a load of buttons that is just sitting in a big tin, not sure what to do with them all, ?

I do hope everyone had a great Halloween ,
We had a wash out that evening here it rain so heavy just as we was going off trick and treating

Done lots on the little china this past week , the cats paws did stress me out the day i did this i was feeling very tired , just kept making mistake's on them, must have UN-picked at least 3 times till i got it right, , i can see me not getting this done in time for the Christmas present, May try again later today,

Got my hexi quilt out yesterday trying to get ahead with this too, Slow due to all done by hand, but it will be great when done,

Got the Christmas Angel done, i have left the border off as im going to make this into a wall hanging, glad this is done in time for Christmas,

One quilt design i like to do in the future is the Dear Jane quilt, next year start maybe i hope,

In to the second week of my 2 half term, they have a extra week as they have been building a new school next door to the one they are at, so now this school is ready the school has taken this half term plus a extra week to move all items out of old into the new, Moving house is stress full i wonder what stress they have doing all the school stuff,

The new building does look great and hope it all runs well when they go back to school.

And just a little up-date of the x-stitch i have worked on this week Little china,

Yesterday had a bad day with it, kept un-picking a section over and over again, might be due to my eyes being tired as i was up at a very early time that day way to early in fact 3am and for no true reason just could not sleep, but in the end after a few attempts to get it right it was working much better,

And just a little bit more done on the xmas angel, still like to get this done before xmas as like to make it into a wall hanging,

No fabric sewing at all this week due to hands still sore and when kids are at home cant sit for long near the machine, have more time when they are at school or out for the day,

My week has been a good one with my cross-stitching and fabric sewing, one good thing i found was some good sheets that will be ideal as backing for my quilt tops, all was double sized from our local charity shop,

Have done a lot on the Christmas angel, going to give this a rest for few days due to working on little china for a while it was nice to get it out after a long time away,

Some of you know i get bad hands and this cold weather does not help them much at all, i have found it painful just to do simple jobs and to drive car well that's very much i cant do till they are bit better, the good thing is i can sew as that's mostly using my finger tips, using sewing machine is also good as it does all the work, still struggle with holding scissors thou,

Well most of last week we had some great weather, and on the Tuesday and Wednesday i had 2 trips out on a date, and the other days was just normal doing the usual things at home and lots of sewing in-between,

The kitchen angel i did ages ago, and the new xmas angel

I have had a great few days doing more sewing than anything else , so no major news really,

Had a tidy up of my sewing corner, it never stays tidy for long, plus started a small xmas stitch a xmas angel, i did the kitchen angel last year but now wanted to do the xmas angel, i hope to get it done and made into a wall hanging in time for xmas.

Yesterday was my 41st Birthday,

Just wanted to share with you what Callum and Savannah got me ,

Savannah got me the photo frames with picture of them in, one school uniform other in normal enjoying time on there bikes.

Callum got me some fabric and a real of cotton which i very much needed.

I had a very relaxing day with plenty of x-stitch done on the Angel of Hope, My mum cooked tea for us all so ended the nice day,

Well it really has changed this weather now, lots of rain most days with the odd nice day like it is today bright but cold,

With this cold snap coming quicker than I'm ready for i have been busy trying to make quick quilts, even tho i have a lot to learn with quilting and really could do with finding a local group which i have tried to do but not within easy reach for me, Maybe good to start one up but as I'm a learner in quilting would need someone who can quilt great to help run a group, Any ideas be welcome for this or if you know anyone from my area who could help.

Done some work also on my Angel of hope later i will add some photo`s of what i have done later,

Plans also for changing my lounge round, the fireplace is in a bad place where ever someone sits on sofa it cant no be seen, and when the fire lights are on its nice to see them rather than turn heads to look, so moving it to the other side of the room,

I also did a brave thing few weeks ago, joined a date site, i feel ready to find happieness hopefully with mr right,

Its been a busy last few weeks of summer holiday getting all school things together, lets hope we have not forgot anything, lol.

This weekend just gone there was a steam fair in Chesterfield it be on again in may, we had such a great day we will be going again,

Got done one more charity square for Jane hope to have more time to do more, when my 2 are back at school end of this week,

Had some bargains lately at our charity shops and car boots on fabric as well as few other great finds.

No major news to tell you about today,

Its been a busy 1st weekend of school hol`s and im sure the rest will be just as busy, hope weather stays good,

Over weekend i did just do a bit of sewing,

Started a charity square for Jane should get it done by end of today , as got to wait in for the plumber to sort taps in bathroom or replace them, Plenty of time to stitch, lol,

My x-stitch up-date

I am ment to be resting today which I'm not good at for long, I'm one for getting up and doing things, Reason is I'm getting lots of bad ear ache`s maybe a old dental issue from years back they caught a nerve taking a tooth out, its not a ongoing problem but has bit bit painful last few days.

So it be a good day to get some stitching done which has been lacking in my life.

Can you also remember i had problems with my hands all ways getting sore well i have had some allergy test done and waiting for more, 2 main things is Latex and concrete plus some others too many on list to put down. but now they are under control ( fingers crossed they stay ok for a while or for good )

These are the 3 main stitching projects i have on the go at moment, may look thou my charts to see what small design i can do.

Its been a great week here with the weather cold and frosty most morning but the days have been very sunny,
Good news and sad news today,

Good news im getting more sewing done just cant show you any pictures for a while.
I may not be able to add pictures for a while due to me losing the wire connection for the camera , no pictures of what I'm doing for a bit but in time i can add at a later date.,
Last week i started a 9 patch quilt top with a Navy blue border edging at moment its a small lap quilt size and growing slowly,
spent some time on my hexi quilt too that's going very well now all hand sewn which i do find very relaxing .
Not done much with my cross-stitch for a while with the better weather and brighter days i be able to sit and spend time on this.

Sad news,
A Early post said we took a rescue dog in called Jack well sadly we had to give him up plus all the other pets we had, they was not helping my hands and since then my hands have been much better still sore in places,

Just like to say thank you for comments and the personal comments on my hands being so sore, at moment i have to carry on with creams till march when i have some patch test`s done to find out whats going on, it looks to me like it will be a long journey, today is a good day there not too bad maybe due to some tablets i have to take, One other thing I'm not aloud to do is any washing up or cleaning that's to do with water, other jobs OK as long as i use plenty of cream before & after.

Onto some sewing talk, well i like to show you my new sewing corner which Mick made for me just before Christmas but now is in more use, now that i have sorted all the things out in the right place.

Mick has still to put shelves up for me so all those boxes will be of the work top so then will have more space to cut and sew.

Also this is just some of the projects i have on-going the hexi quilt will take me the longest the one with all the 3 patch shape wave effect, the one with the round circle hexi quilt should be a quicker job,

The Chinese wall hanging is nearly done i hope to finish today just got the top ties to add on.

Have plenty of x-stitch on the go to i will show them at a later date,

Late or Early

Well this can be a Late or Early Christmas stitch, As i always leave everything till last few months nearer Xmas this will have to be classed as early i think you agree, As i spent some time browsing my mags i came across this little Santa stitch he looked bright and cheerful this was the reason i felt like doing him, i don't seam to get as much time to x-stitch or work with my fabric like i used to due to family life and sore hands,

Hi Friends

Well it has been awhile, time has just gone so fast with so much has happened,
My last post was in the beginning of November and since then been mostly family things going on, but now Christmas has past & with Mick making me a sewing corner out I'm slowly getting back to stitching when my hands let me, as over the last few months they have become very sore and painful, I'm due to visit the hospital about them in February so fingers crossed they with improve,
No camera as yet so no pictures to show but i hope to replace the one i had soon

Very Happy, Meet Jack

Last few days at home has been full of excitement due to Mick giving me a wonderful surprise, all my life i have loved dogs and Collies are one of my top favourites, well on Friday afternoon while he was out he passed a dog kennels that also re home unwanted pets, well on this off chance he said he just poped in and there was this collie only been at the center a short while, so Mick kept it a secret till next day when he took me out for a drive with our 2 girls to go and visit the collie called Jack and take him for a walk, well i totally fell for him, His name is Jack and only 10 months old, so we said yes to taking him home, it lucky we had our home check on the same day as we met him, so by the following day we was able to go and fetch him, He has been as good as gold since then,

If i can get him to sit still for a short while as all he want to do is play ball no-stop i will get some better pictures,

Rooster finish

I added the last few back stitches to the Rooster this morning,

In time over the next few weeks i hope to make it into a very small wall hanging or something else, look great in the kitchen, i enjoyed this design i hope to do the others that was in the same magazine soon,

I still have 3 big x-stitch designs on the go, and some un-finished quilts to do, due to holidays i may just do small projects till there back at school,

School Holidays

Well its the 1st week of the school holiday`s, no plans to go away but hopefully have some great days having fun,
Catching up on my garden is one job for me this next few weeks, got loads of plants too move around, wanting to make space for a small fruit and veg patch,
Love life is still going well,

Hope to get more done on that blue quilt i was doing a few weeks ago its been on hold but now need to restart it,
My rooster is almost done just the back stitch to do.

2nd Border

Thankyou to all who has e-mailed me with get well to Callum, he is doing ok his temp has gone down but still very unwell , It always takes longer for Callum to get better than the rest of us when we are unwell.

I did this second border few days ago but with whats happened not had time to take a photo and tell you about it, I`m keeping to same colours for this whole quilt top, the second border has just 2 of the colours i used, so the next border will be just the plain light blue.

Mum says i should keep to just adding the last plain blue border,

What do you think ?

If i did add other border was thinking of flying geese pattern strip.

Pc fixed and Callum

What a few day`s i have had,
Some of you may know ( from my old blog ) that Callum has had some health worries in the past due to a common cold giving him kidney failure in 2004 with a result of spending time at the kidney unit at Nottingham Hospital, well a few months ago he had a check up and was given 99% clear and next test he be due they may take him of there books as he was doing so well ,
Well yesterday morning Callum woke up not too well, cough and sore throat as there is alot of this flu going around at moment i got a bit worried, phoned doctor to be on safe side, well he has just got back and they say he has not got the flu but a very bad cold, fingers crossed he gets well very soon,

My pc is fixed, it was just a silly little problem that was fixed with in minutes so im back on line,

Afternoon stitching

Yesterday i was cutting up squares ready for this quilt I'm working on now, Since yesterday this is what i have done this afternoon, not following a pattern so building layer`s as i go,Hoping to keep this to a blue shades quilt, maybe with a dash of white added in.

This part is the main center now I'm ready to think of the next section to go around this may do a plain strip border 1st then add a design strip of some sort of design next,

I also have some un-finished projects which need to be looked at i will show you in the next post i do what they are.

Bag done, and a new idea

Last night added the bag handles to the bag Savannah wanted me to make her, i think now it looks much better as a bag than the quilt design i had planed for it,

She is so frilled with it it has been everywhere with her since last night even had to hang it on the back of the chair while we had breakfast.

Yesterday after a little tidy up of my fabric i sorted some pale blue fabric and some printed fabric, I have a idea in my mind what i will do with this so far just cutting out some squares, and see how i go from there,

Growing & a change

A long time ago i started a quilt with a flower pot design and yoyos for a border, but i was not truly very happy with this, so it just got put back to the pile and forgotten about, Other day did a bit of a sort out and had a re-think, so started by unpicking the yoyo squares then my daughter Savannah came in and said "can she have a bag made with it" , so off i went at making this up, adding a inner lining of pink fabric, now just got to add some sort of handles to it now.

Also you may remember from the hexagon group i was in i was working on a hexi`s lap quilt well this has been growing slowly but going well, am in need of some more fabric to use for it, trying not to use the same fabric twice on the colour bits,

Its so nice to get back into my stitching again, I can`t remember when i last posted the charts I'm doing on my old blog but i did find in my files the pictures that i did so at least i can show you a past picture and up-date picture of where i am at now . Yesterday i spent most of my time on Angel of hope, and few days ago the Little china chart, not yet touched the Elephant maybe i will try that later. But can show you a bit of change to this .

I'm keen to spend more time on my fabric stitching too next week try to get my Hexagon`s quilt done a bit more and other fabric things more about this in later post .

Thank you so much for dropping by my blog, I did have a old blog but for some reason it all went wrong, so this is my fresh start,
